Cardiac arrests that happen outside the hospital are the leading cause of death in the United States. BLS (CPR) is designed by American Heart Association for both healthcare professionals and the public desiring a certification card. Education in management of the vital first few minutes of cardiac arrest and handling of choking emergencies is provided. Recognizing and acting quickly in an emergent situation directly correlates with increased survival rates.  This course provides a certification valid for 2 years and is available as an initial or a recertification course.
